Recent research by Ookla shows that Telenet is the fastest provider of fixed and mobile internet in Belgium. The average fixed download speed in Belgium is 88.30 Mbps, with an average fixed upload speed of 19.34 Mbps. The average mobile download speed is 54.45 Mbps, with an average upload speed of 11.33 Mbps. Telenet has the highest average fixed download speed of 133.64 Mbps, followed by VOO, Orange, Proximus and Scarlet. Telenet/BASE also has the highest average mobile download speed of 69.48 Mbps, followed by Proximus with 66.22 Mbps. The cities with the fastest connections for fixed internet are Antwerp and Ghent, followed by Charleroi, Brussels and Liège. For mobile internet, Ghent and Antwerp are the fastest, followed by Brussels, Liège and Charleroi. This is likely due to the fact that 5G has been rolled out most strongly in these cities.
