The Best Meeting Platforms for Business in 2023
The coronavirus pandemic has made meeting platforms more popular than ever before. In 2023, these applications will be indispensable in business, especially now that hybrid working has become the norm for many sectors. But with so many providers offering video call and collaboration functionality, which platform is best for which business situation?
Microsoft Teams
Windows users are likely already familiar with Microsoft Teams, which is standard for private use in Windows 11. It is also part of Microsoft 365 for business, which gives companies access to more options. This integration with Windows 11 and Office 365 ensures a lot of interoperability. Synchronizing calendars runs smoothly, as do the notifications for Teams meetings that can be seen in Outlook.
Interface and Ease of Use
Microsoft has completely redesigned the Teams platform, now known as Teams 2.0. The interface is now styled with Windows 11, complete with the ‘Mica translucency’ that visually differentiates it from its predecessor. Logging in is a lot easier because the Microsoft 365 ecosystem already takes care of this. Noise reduction is also available during calls.
Functions
The level of functionality differs between the free and the Premium variant, which costs 8.40 euros per month. The regular version already offers Multi-Tenant Multi-Account (MTMA), which allows users to maintain private and work accounts on one device. It also recently introduced Teams Payments to handle payments. Of course, Teams also supports video calling and chats. With Teams Premium, AI assistance is available through generated notes, personalized highlights and live transcripts.
The big advantage of Teams is that it contains scalability. A “team” can contain up to 25,000 members, while 5,000 direct members can be in one channel. A meeting can handle up to 1000 participants. The maximum resolution for a video call is 1080p. Microsoft 365 Business Basic is 5.60 euros per user per month, excluding VAT. Standard costs EUR 11.70 per user per month as an annual subscription.
