Data Integrity is Key to Cloud Adoption, According to SUSE’s Cloud Security Report

Cloud adoption is being held back by failing or insufficient security solutions for data in the cloud. SUSE’s research argues that data integrity plays a critical role in driving cloud adoption.
According to SUSE’s cloud security report, 88 percent of companies in Europe and America agree that if data were guaranteed to be safe in the cloud, they would move more workloads to the cloud. The report collected answers from 501 respondents, ranging from managers to IT professionals.
SUSE’s research found that European organizations had to deal with three security incidents in their cloud environment in the past year, which is less than the four-incident average, which is pulled up by the number of incidents at U.S. organizations.

Data Storage Security is Top Priority

Organizations will be paying the most attention to the security of data storage in the cloud (31%) in the coming year. They will also be working on preventing runtime attacks, enforcing security policies, identity federation, and automation (29%).
In terms of funding, cloud-native security takes the bulk of the budget, from about a third of companies. European companies will also be planning a re-evaluation of how they test code for bugs in the coming year (40% versus 15% in the US).
