SUSE Unveils New Security Features for Rancher and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
SUSE is set to unveil its latest SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE) 15 SP5 at SUSECON 2023. The new release is designed to prepare companies for the new AI innovations and provide optimizations for running AI and ML workloads.
Live Patching and Confidential Computing
SUSE is expanding the live patching options and giving confidential computing a central position. This means that users can run fully encrypted virtual machines, no matter what environment they are in.
SUSE Adaptable Linux Platform
SUSE is also moving into the cloud native direction with the open source project SUSE Adaptable Linux Platform (ALP). ALP evolves to a modular Linux for this.
SUSE’s container management platform, Rancher, will also receive updates. These include improved storage management through the integration of the latest Storage Performance Development Kit.
Harvester 1.2 will also be released in July, with a focus on simplifying cloud native infrastructure. SUSE NeuVector 5.2 is also getting an update for improved vulnerability management and simpler Kubernetes security. Examples include the integration of databases to quickly access the list of common vulnerabilities and NIST 800-53. The security platform will also be available from July via the AWS Marketplace.
Finally, the platform is infused with AI by integrating an AI assistant into the Rancher Prime customer channel on Slack.
