Sumo Logic has announced several new features for its SaaS platform. According to the company, new customers are more likely to gain insights through improved onboarding. Additionally, users can now use Predict for Metrics, a tool to monitor system consumption.
At KubeCon/CloudNativeCon 2023, Sumo Logic highlighted how it is improving its platform. The company is also increasing the range of tools available to users. The Sumo Logic Linux distro that runs OpenTelemetry Collector can now also monitor Windows systems, in addition to existing compatibility with Linux and macOS.
New customers can expect infrastructure monitoring to be ready in minutes, thanks to the streamlined onboarding process. The three-step process, which can be completed in five minutes, consists of Collector Setup, Source Configuration, and Dashboard Setup. This allows the company to display all applications through a single OpenTelemetry portal.
Sumo Logic also showcased Predict for Metrics at KubeCon/CloudNativeCon. The feature is designed to help users “control the chaos” of production problems, downtime, and rising cloud costs. With Predict for Metrics, users can predict the requirements of applications, cloud systems, and infrastructure. This helps organizations understand how resources are used and whether they are sufficient, allowing them to prevent bottlenecks.
Predict for Metrics is a metrics query language operator that enables users to perform complex calculations on large data sets. It uses linear and autoregressive models, which means it can use data points from the past to identify trends and predict the future. The data can be viewed clearly on Sumo Logic’s dashboards.
Sumo Logic has added more reliability to its observability platform.
