Samsung Launches Nine Versatile Monitors in its Smart Monitor Series

Samsung is launching nine versatile monitors in its Smart Monitor series from 2023. The focus is on adaptability to your own taste and to your work needs.

M8, M7 and M5 Smart Monitors

In Samsung’s new Smart Monitor range launch new M8, M7 and M5 Smart Monitors. On the M7 and M8 model, the size of the screen can go up to 32 inches. The M7 monitor is also available in 27-inch, which is also the standard size of the M5 model.
The M5 model is the cheaper product in the line. For a price of 219 euros, you get a monitor with Full HD resolution in exchange. Within the Benelux only the white option is available, but globally a black model is also being launched.

Graphic Professionals

This year’s top monitor, the M8, has 4K resolution, a brightness of 400 nits and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The M7 has the same resolution, but reduces the brightness to 300 nits. Both devices should be very suitable for the target group of graphic designers, with a color coverage of up to 99% of the sRGB color gamut. The connection is always via USB-C.
Another asset of the M8 monitor is the magnetic and removable webcam. This makes it unnecessary to incur costs for an external webcam and gives you the option to remove the webcam after a meeting for privacy reasons. The camera supports FHD resolution, puts you neatly in the center of the image via Auto Framing and has an improved Multi View, so you can now use Microsoft 365 and the Browser app in full screen mode.
Samsung does not only use its monitors in the office. With some built-in streaming services, the device has to prove itself useful even after working hours. The 2023 Smart Monitor series also features a built-in IoT Hub, which should make it easy for a user to control all of his IoT devices in the home.

Work Vertically

Both monitors also share the same design. Here Samsung itself says it has gone for slimness, which makes the monitor measures 11.39mm at its thinnest point. A herringbone pattern on the back of the monitor should please the eye, which is a nice detail if your monitor is the heart of your living room. More important is the flexibility of the screen, which makes it possible to work both horizontally and vertically.
The M8 gets a color gamut consisting of white, blue, green and pink. The monitor will be available from this month for 699 euros. The M7 is only available in white in the Benelux. For a 27-inch you pay 549 euros, a 32-inch monitor will cost you 50 euros more.
