Otter AI Chat: A New AI Chatbot to Help Users During and After Meetings

Otter has announced a new AI chatbot, Otter AI Chat, to help users through a platform for asking questions during and after meetings, generating follow-up emails with action items, and providing contextual answers based on the discussions during the meeting.

Catch Up on Missed Content

The chatbot offers the possibility to catch up on missed content, for example by asking “I’m late for the meeting, what did I miss?”. Otter AI Chat should make sure no one feels left out or uninformed.

Target Multiple Individuals

Unlike other chatbots that only focus on one-on-one conversations, Otter can target multiple individuals. This also means that team members can tag each other for clarification or action items.
Zoom announced a similar feature earlier this year. There it provides meeting summaries for latecomers. However, Otter’s chatbot wants to go further by harnessing the power of AI to provide intelligent answers that are tailored to the context of the conversation.
It’s still unclear whether Otter trained the chatbot using the vast amount of transcribed data the company possesses. This is currently more than 1 million spoken words per minute.
The company assures users that chat data is not shared with third parties.

OtterPilot Bot

The development, which will roll out to users in the coming days, follows the introduction of the OtterPilot bot in February, which automatically emailed meeting summaries to attendees and included relevant slide images in meeting notes and transcripts.
With the introduction of Otter AI Chat, Otter aims to add an intelligent layer to the existing AI-based minute-taking function, allowing users to ask more complex questions.

Large Language Models (LLMs)

Recording AI generated notes and summaries Meeting types are becoming more common in meeting-related tools, thanks to advances in Large Language Models (LLMs).
