Open Dutch Fiber (ODF) is taking over the network of Diemenglas from Diemen-Zuid. The supplier of open-access fiber optic connections states that customers will experience no changes. The organization is aiming to increase its number of fiber optic connections from 1 million to 2 million by 2025. Customers can select from various providers, such as T-Mobile, Trined, and Fiber.nl, via ODF.
CFO Mathijs van den Nieuwenhuijzen is delighted with the acquisition. “We are dedicated to providing as many Dutch households as possible with fiber optics and all the opportunities it brings. This mission is one step closer with this acquisition.” ODF previously acquired E-fiber in 2022, which added over 100,000 connections to its portfolio. This means that the goal of 2 million connections in 2025 will largely be achieved through acquisitions.
The company is also investing heavily in new connections. At the end of last year, ODF announced a loan of 610 million euros to provide fiber optics, mainly in urban areas. On the Open Dutch Fiber website, you can find out where the connections are being made. In most cases, these are projects that provide tens of thousands of households with a fiber optic connection.
