Noname and Wiz join forces for better cyber resilience

Noname Security and Wiz are joining forces to combine their expertise in API and cloud security, with the aim of enhancing customers’ cyber resilience.
According to the press release, the two partners are relying on research from investment company Battery Ventures, indicating that significant investment in enterprise security and automation is expected in 2022-23. Both depend on APIs, which enable an application to perform a function within an IT infrastructure.
It is not unusual for Noname and Wiz to enter into such a partnership. For example, Wiz collaborated with SentinelOne on cloud security and Noname partnered with AWS consultant Oblivion in 2022.
Interaction
Through the collaboration, Noname and Wiz promise a range of useful interactions between their services. Noname’s API Security Platform ensures that all aspects of API security are integrated, while Wiz’s service can quickly scan an entire cloud environment for potential risks. Noname processes the data generated by Wiz to provide an overview of the security level of all APIs in use.
With both tools, users can determine the impact of an API within the infrastructure. In addition, issues detected by Wiz can be addressed with Noname workflows. The partners also claim that data leaks can be identified and addressed more quickly by using both tools together.
Legislation
The changing legislation on cybersecurity is a highly topical issue. European policymakers are pushing for software companies to close security vulnerabilities. The Python Software Foundation recently stated that it considers this proposed legislation to be very risky for open-source coding. Whatever the legislation looks like, the importance of compliance cannot be underestimated.
For this reason, it is not surprising that Noname and Wiz emphasize the usefulness of their collaboration in this area. For example, monitoring APIs is essential to comply with privacy legislation. In addition, users can identify which APIs use sensitive data and where that data ends up, allowing system administrators to prevent it from being exposed. For example, they can ensure that certain data does not end up in a foreign data center. The flexibility of the Noname and Wiz platforms should ensure that there is also room to comply with new legislation in the future.
