Mendix Introduces AI and ML Functionality with Mendix 10

Mendix has released a new version of its low-code platform, Mendix 10, with a range of AI and ML functionality. The new release comes with a new ML-Kit, new bots and generative AI.

ML-Kit for AI Use Cases

Mendix has released a new ML-Kit for integrating use cases for AI. It allows developers to build solutions with custom AI models in applications. This is possible with AI frameworks, especially those based on the Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX), and the programming language of choice.
The new ML-Kit will drastically improve the performance of ML models in low-code applications. It also significantly shortens time-consuming and manual work for AI implementations. In general, it is also ensured that the performance of applications with AI improves considerably.

New Mendix Assist Bots

Mendix 10 comes with new Assist bots, including the Mendix Assist Best Practice bot. This bot is a virtual AI-based “co-developer” that inspects applications in real time and adds software development best practices with Mendix.
The new Data Validation bot helps developers build validation logic using pre-developed expressions in an automated way. This should help developers to build solutions with AI support more easily, while guaranteeing a very high level of quality.

Generative AI

Mendix introduces generative AI with Mendix Chat. This chatbot in the Mendix IDE helps developers apply certain concepts or patterns. The next step is to roll out generative AI in the Mendix DSLs.
