This week, GitLab announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud to deliver new secure AI solutions for enterprise organizations. Leveraging the Google Vertex AI platform, GitLab will be able to use Google’s core models to provide customers with AI-driven features within their cloud infrastructure, while protecting user privacy by keeping customer intellectual property and source code within GitLab’s cloud infrastructure. The partnership aims to improve DevSecOps workflow efficiency by 10 times, applying AI-assisted workflows to all users involved in delivering software value. June Yang, VP of Cloud AI and Industry Solutions at Google Cloud, said: “Together with GitLab, we can deliver generative AI functionality that enables our joint customers to increase delivery speed without compromising security.” David DeSanto, Chief Product Officer at GitLab, added: “GitLab’s vision for generative AI is based on privacy, security, and transparency.
