EPOS has launched a new headset in the Dutch market, the IMPACT 1000 series, which promises to provide clear communication in noisy work environments. Prices for the headset range from 269 to 409 euros, depending on the model.
EPOS has addressed the challenges posed by the ‘New Open Office’ trend in office design. Many companies are now opting for an open plan instead of cubicles, which should facilitate better communication and collaboration. However, the cubicles of the past were effective in blocking out distractions, so EPOS believes that headset designers must now take on this challenge.
Innovative Technologies
EPOS has incorporated “breakthrough technologies and easy-to-use features” into their headsets. Through psychoacoustic research, the company has developed the IMPACT series to provide greater user-friendliness. The noise reduction feature is said to reduce the effort required to understand a conversation by 67 percent, and people can hear 48 percent more of the conversation in a noisy environment.
EPOS has also taken into account the issue of multitasking. We often multitask without realizing it, which requires extra cognitive resources to follow a conversation. To address this, the headsets are equipped with BrainAdapt technology, which is designed to reduce fatigue. Additionally, the headsets feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
The headsets also incorporate AI and ML technology, allowing them to adapt to the specific environment. This means that users in a noisy office can expect a different form of noise canceling than those in a quieter workplace.
The 1061 headset is available on the EPOS website for 329 euros.
