Cisco Acquires Accedian to Strengthen Network Performance Monitoring

Cisco has acquired Accedian, a network monitoring platform provider, to further strengthen its portfolio of network performance and quality assurance solutions. The acquisition gives Cisco control over the Accedian Skylight platform, a unified full-stack environment for network assurance, observability, and data analytics.

Skylight Platform Overview

The Skylight platform is designed to ensure that network environments and applications proactively meet the best performance standards. It also optimizes network capacity and provides solutions to the problems it identifies.
For Cisco, the acquisition should also expand the capacity of its ThousandEyes end-to-end network assurance functionality.

Previous Collaboration

Cisco and Accedian have been working together for some time in the Cisco SolutionsPlus program. In this collaboration, they mainly focus on providing an automation and assurance solution for service providers.
Cisco also offers the Skylight platform for service partners in its Crosswork Network Automation platform.
