Cloud management company Box has introduced Box AI, which is built on OpenAI technology. The tool deploys generative artificial intelligence on Box Content Cloud to give companies faster insights into their data.
Users can benefit from two new possibilities with Box AI. Firstly, the tool helps users ask the right questions about their documents to gain new insights. Secondly, it makes it easier to create content on the platform. For example, the AI tool can assemble a well-flowing text with a number of bullet points.
Box AI uses the large language models (LLMs) developed by OpenAI. The same technology can be found in ChatGPT, the chat function of Bing, Office 365 and GitHub CoPilot, among others.
Widely Applicable
The Box Content Cloud platform is the latest in a long line of services that have added generative AI to their functionalities in recent months. Since the release of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, there is a service that introduces generative AI to make users work more efficiently.
Box CEO Aaron Levie states that LLMs have ushered in a new era for AI. “They are general purpose models that are much more widely applicable than AI was before. We can transform all enterprise content into business value.”
The possibilities offered by Box AI are varied. For example, sales teams can use it to analyze a complex contract and analysts can use it to analyze a financial report. It is not the first time that a company has marketed an AI tool in this way, which is why Deloitte has established a business unit to help companies extract value from such applications.
Box AI won’t be available to everyone right away. Only customers of the new Box Design Partner Program will get access first. Some features will eventually be available to all Content Cloud users at an affordable price, says Levie.
