Microsoft Doubles Bing Chat Messages Limit

Microsoft has recently announced that it has doubled the number of messages users can send back and forth with its AI chatbot on Bing Chat. The daily limit has now been raised to 300 messages, up from the previous 15. The announcement was made by CVP and Head of Engineering and Product Jordi Ribas via Twitter.
The increase in the number of messages should lead to a more natural conversation, as the chatbot is able to remember the context of previously sent messages. However, there are still a few guardrails within the algorithm behind Bing Chat, as it was discovered shortly after its introduction that the chatbot could be quite rude at times.
The increment of Bing Chat messages follows shortly after a series of Microsoft announcements at its own Build conference. AI assistance is becoming increasingly central to the Microsoft ecosystem, and Bing Chat specializes in search, just as Google’s Bard does.
Twitter reactions to the announcement have included many suggestions for further improvements. However, it is unlikely that Microsoft will remove the message limit, as it no longer has a waiting list for the chatbot and must be sparing with the hardware cycles it has in the cloud. Microsoft 365 is now also bursting at the seams with AI functionality.
