Axis Communications Introduces Body Worn Live Streaming Service
Axis Communications has launched a new live streaming service, Body Worn Live, which is designed to increase the safety of emergency responders and enable real-time analyses. The service allows users to activate the live streaming service at the same time as turning on their Axis body cameras, which automatically forward the live audio and video images to a security center.
Real-Time Intervention
The live streaming service allows for direct intervention in emergency situations. The security center can watch the live audio and video images and make decisions for extra reinforcement or other intervention.
Post-Analysis
In addition to direct intervention, the service also provides post-analysis options. All streamed images are stored in a cloud environment for 24 hours, and the ‘pre-recording’ feature can be enabled to create images of everything that took place up to the activation of the live stream. This allows for a better understanding of what led to the incident. Furthermore, the video images can be scrolled in real time for better analyses.
Technology
Axis Body Worn Live runs independently of the selected Video Management System (VMS) or Evidence Management System (EMS) of the rescue organization. Buffering software ensures that no data is lost, even if communication with the camera fails.
The streamed audio and video images are suitable for PCs, but also for mobile devices based on Android and iOS. Rights can also be assigned to ensure data integrity for multiple, simultaneous users.
The tool also runs on Microsoft Azure and the streaming video system meets the latest security requirements, including end-to-end encryption.
