Nasdaq Transforms with the Help of the Cloud
Nasdaq is a diverse tech company that embraces software-as-a-service (SaaS) wherever possible. After migrating to Microsoft 365, the financial services company began looking for a cloud-based, fully managed backup solution.
Searching for the Right Solution
When Nasdaq started using Microsoft 365, the company also took a closer look at the backup solution that was active at the time. The team of four employees wanted a solution that was easy to use and could manage 6,000 Microsoft 365 accounts, as well as around 100 Exchange accounts for sensitive applications that do not come into contact with the internet.
Cohesity DataProtect for Microsoft 365
Nasdaq eventually settled on Cohesity DataProtect as-a-service for Microsoft 365. It also relies on Cohesity DataProtect for on-premises Exchange data. Within a month, the Cohesity solution was live. Today, Nasdaq backs up 6,000 mailboxes, 45 TB of OneDrive and Teams data, and 100 Exchange mailboxes.
The switch to Cohesity DataProtect has enabled Nasdaq to use a single interface for managing backups and restoring data. In addition, the move made reporting around compliance easier, while also reducing cloud storage costs.
