A firmware update for HP OfficeJet printers released earlier this month is causing problems, according to Bleeping Computer. The update is resulting in a blue screen and the error code ’83C0000B’ on the built-in touchscreen, causing the printer to get stuck in its print jobs. The affected HP printers are specifically the OfficeJet 902x models, including the HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9020eAll-in-One, and the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer. The issue is being reported in many countries, such as the US, UK, Germany, Australia, Poland, New Zealand, France, and the Netherlands. HP has stated that only a limited number of end users are affected.
HP is currently working hard to provide a solution, according to their support site. However, many affected end users have complained about poor communication from the tech giant. It is still unclear when a definitive solution for the printers crashing due to the bad update will become available.
