Kaspersky Lab specialists have developed Kaspersky Antidrone Portable, a compact device that can be used independently or as part of larger systems to detect drones. The detector can be used in combination with other types of detectors as part of Kaspersky Antidrone, such as optical and radar systems, as well as with a mobile UAV jammer.
The mobile RF detector is designed for use at mass events, to protect private property and transport infrastructure. It is mainly intended for government organizations and businesses that need to detect drones in a specific location and within a given period of time.
Evgeny Kaspersky, head of the company, said: “In 2019, we introduced the Kaspersky Antidrone hardware and software system to the market. Its main purpose is to protect critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, transport infrastructure and public events from the misuse of drones. Today, the world has seen the light of a new hardware sensor Kaspersky Antidrone Portable – and this is another confirmation that we have long been more than just an anti-virus company.”
Kaspersky Antidrone Portable is a hardware solution for detecting commercial drones by radio signal. It can determine the exact location of the most common drone models within a radius of up to one kilometer, as well as the position of the operator controlling it. The detector is equipped with a waterproof tablet based on Kaspersky Antidrone software, which sends a notification about detected drones on its graphical interface.
The device weighs less than 5 kg and fits in a case the size of a carry-on suitcase. The detector can work offline for up to two hours. At the same time, the operator, who can move freely around the perimeter of the protected area, can significantly expand the search radius.
