Roskomnadzor has announced that the Fault Monitoring service created by the Center for Monitoring and Control of the Public Communications Network (CMU SSOP) and subordinate to Roskomnadzor, has been launched under the FSUE Main Radio Frequency Center (GRC). This service was created to replace Downdetector, from which all Russian companies and services were removed last year.
“If you experience any issues with an Internet service, a banking application or a telecom operator, you can report it on the portal. This will create a heat map based on all user requests. If the failure is widespread, the Center’s specialists will work together with telecom operators and service owners to resolve the problem,” the RKN stated.
According to the CMU SSOP, the service will give users the ability to report any inoperability of Internet services, banking applications and telecom operators, monitor the stability of their operation and analyze the geography of recorded issues.
In addition, Looking Glass, a special service for specialized professionals, was launched on the Center’s portal. This service provides information about IP addresses, autonomous systems, and optimal traffic routes.
