The cybercriminals managed to steal important information that could damage the stability of supplies to the country of vital products. Some of the stolen information may be of strategic value to Israel.
Last weekend, hackers carried out a cyberattack on dozens of companies involved in the delivery and import of goods in Israel. This is reported by the Calcalist edition.
The attack began with hacking into the computers of the software company Amital. The publication notes that this time the hackers did not demand a ransom. There is reason to believe that this is a “state” cyberattack with the aim of harming Israel.
One of the interlocutors of Calcalist said that the cyberattack resembles the hacker attack carried out in 2017 on large Ukrainian companies that are the backbone of the national economy. This attack was carried out by Russian hackers using the NotPetya worm.
As a result of the attack, accounting software was disabled. As a result, the expert believes, the Ukrainian economy has suffered heavy losses.
