The media has reported that the number of illegally sold car-sharing accounts rose by 40% in March compared to February of this year. Prices for such accounts have also increased, ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 rubles for standard accounts and even higher for premium accounts. The primary buyers of these accounts are people who lack the necessary documents or want to avoid fines. According to T.Hunter and RTK-Solar experts, the demand for illegal accounts has grown significantly.
Statistics from Yandex and Google show that the demand for buying illegal car-sharing accounts increased by 25% and 40% respectively in March 2023. Traffic police officers are aware of such tricks and often check whether the account information in the application matches the driver’s data. Both hacked accounts and those registered as figureheads are sold on the black market, with different prices for each type.
