₿liteZero researcher found out that Ronin hackers transferred stolen assets from Ethereum to the Bitcoin network.
BliteZero researcher from SlowMist company traced the transaction path of stolen funds after the attack on Ronin. The maximum amount of stolen funds was initially converted to ETH and sent to an authorized Ethereum Tornado Cash cryptocurrency mixer, and then transferred to the Bitcoin network and converted to BTC via the Ren protocol.
After that, the hackers sent most of the funds to crypto mixers such as ChipMixer and Blender. They transferred the funds to ChipMixer and then brought the part to Blender.
Recall that on March 23, it became known about the theft of a cryptocurrency worth about 625 million from the Ronin blockchain, which underlies the popular crypto game Axie Infinity.
None of the hacker groups officially announced the hack. However, US authorities have determined that the digital currency address used by the hackers is under the control of the North Korean hacker group Lazarus.
