The Linux Foundation (LF) has welcomed 100 new members in the past six months, and is now taking the opportunity of KubeCon/CloudNativeCon to make a number of announcements. The LF Europe has established a 20-member Advisory Board, and has set the date for the first Member Summit, to be held on September 18 in Bilbao, Spain. This event is intended to bring together open-source leaders from the public and private sectors.
The new members include global tech giants such as Intel, Samsung and Tencent, as well as universities and non-profit open-source organizations. The Advisory Board consists of experts in the field of open ecosystems, including SAP, Ericsson, Nokia and the London Stock Exchange. The LF is committed to promoting open collaborations to further the development and dissemination of open source projects.
