According to Extreme Networks, the AP3000 is the smallest and most energy-efficient Wi-Fi 6E access point available. Unveiled at the Extreme Connect user conference, the AP3000 is designed for price-conscious customers who demand professional performance from a small device. It comes in two form factors, with a 2×2:2 dual radio and optional external antennas with a wider temperature range, making it suitable for cold stores, warm environments, production sites, warehouses with high ceilings, and classrooms. The power consumption is also the lowest among currently available Wi-Fi 6E access points at 13.9W. The AP3000 also works with Extreme Fabric, allowing IT teams to automate onboarding and provisioning, and use hyper segmentation to divide the network into zones for increased security.
At the same time, Extreme Networks is releasing the new 7520 Universal Switch. This 1/10/25 Gb server is designed for use in data centers and server rooms, and comes in models for both 1/10 Gb copper and 1/10/25 Gb Fiber. The 7720 Universal Switch offers faster core switching with up to 32 x 100 Gb ports, and bundles up to eight different connections from previous generation aggregation/core switch into one series. Additionally, Extreme Networks is announcing ExtremeCloud Edge at Extreme Connect.
