CloudFabrix Introduces Observability Data Modernization Service (ODMS)
Cisco recently announced a tech preview of its Full-Stack Observability (FSO) platform, and CloudFabrix is one of the first to offer a specific solution for this. CloudFabrix’s Observability Data Modernization Service (ODMS) is designed to solve the problem of data not being inherently suitable for full-stack observability platforms.
Open Telemetry (OTEL) on the Rise
Open Telemetry (OTEL) is an open standard for telemetry that is on the rise. Last April during KubeCon, it was a major topic of discussion. ServiceNow’s acquisition of LightStep, an OTEL player, is another indication of its popularity. Cisco also announced support for OTEL within ThousandEyes during Cisco Live Europe in February.
However, many vendor-specific agents are still used to collect data, and not all telemetry is packaged in the OTEL standard. This is where CloudFabrix’s ODMS comes in. It allows users to convert these signals to OTEL signals and add them to the observability platform.
CloudFabrix’s ODMS Adds Context
CloudFabrix’s ODMS does more than just modernizing the data. It also provides context by mapping the topology, enriching data using metadata, and building dependencies across domains. This is done through the deployment of over 1000 low-code bots from the Robotic Data Automation Fabric. This part of the service is tailored specifically to the needs of verticals such as healthcare, fintech, telco, and SAP environments.
