Barracuda Email Gateway Defense Users Locked Out of Accounts
Users of Barracuda’s Email Gateway Defense have been locked out of their accounts for over a week. The e-mail security specialist has been working to resolve the issue and aims to provide a solution by July 14.
Login Attempts Followed by ‘The Link to Log In is Invalid’ Message
When users attempt to log in, they are met with the message ‘The link to log in is invalid’. It is currently unclear what is causing the problem, but Barracuda has been unable to solve the issue immediately.
Barracuda Apologizes for Inconvenience
Affected customers have been asked to be patient while Barracuda works to resolve the issue. The company has apologized for any inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their understanding and support.
The security company has previously shown that it does not always succeed in tackling a problem itself. For the vulnerability in its Email Security Gateway (ESG) devices, it eventually took a drastic measure: replacing affected devices. The patch that the company previously released turned out to be insufficient. Hackers can exploit the vulnerability to enable a remote command injection attack.
Barracuda is now working to resolve the issue with a tentative timeline for the release of the fix on or before July 14. Until then, users of the Email Gateway Defense will have to wait to access their accounts.
